Whilst social distancing and PPE can help to keep the spread of COVID-19 to a minimum, it is inevitable that some people will become infected – but until (and unless) they show symptoms, they become silent spreaders of the virus – infecting colleagues without any knowledge that they are doing so.
Workplace COVID-19 screening
The answer is widespread and regular screening. Using rapid antigen test (lateral flow tests) that produce easy to read results in just 15 minutes identifies both those who are infected but showing no symptoms (asymptomatic) AND those who are infected but not yet symptomatic due to being in the early stages of infection.
The unusually long incubation period of COVID-19 – up to 14 days – combined with the fact that many people have very mild symptoms (or often none at all) means that only an effective screening program can identify individuals infected with COVID-19.
COVID-19 testing solutions for your business
We can offer three testing methods and a range of solutions to assist companies and organisations maintain a safe working environment;
- Rapid antigen tests (lateral flow tests), using nasal or oral swabs
- RT-PCR laboratory tests, for absolute confirmation of anyone screening positive
- Rapid antibody tests, using a finger prick method
These testing methods are best used in a combined program, as they each have an optimal window for best results, depending upon when the person was first exposed to the virus.
We can provide test kits for workforce self-testing, or we can provide a qualified nursing team along with all the necessary PPE and test-kits to carry out on site testing at your premises, to ensure the correct procedures are followed.
